Sin, the Believer, and the Good News

By Chris Davis-

More often than not, the church has taught that we, as believers, have two natures contending with one another within us. In this teaching, Chris Davis sets forth a thought-provoking argument against this common interpretation of Romans 6 and 7. Davis fails to see how this two-nature concept can be “good news.” He argues that the Bible does not teach this and that we are actually held hostage to this supposed “sin nature” when we believe this teaching to be true. The scriptures clearly state that the Law was nailed to the cross. The sin nature was eradicated in our identification with Christ’s death. That, Davis believes, is “good news.”

I believe this revelation is vitally important to our understanding of the Good news of the Kingdom. Use this teaching for your own personal study and edification or in your group setting. Be as the Bereans and search the scriptures for yourself. Acts 17:11.
